Kenneth T. Tyra
Chief Executive officer
Ken brings to Alexius and its clients over 30 years of experience in a wide range of start-up and established businesses, including software, real estate, legal, toy, entertainment and medical device companies. Notably, Ken was CEO of a private Raleigh, North Carolina-based wireless data software company that grew to over 150 employees and raised over $35 Million in equity, including $25 Million from New York City based Warburg Pincus Funds, and was later sold to a public company. He has a lengthy legal bio as well, including roles as a Partner at Dorsey & Whitney LLP in its Minneapolis and Denver offices (where he was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions and Real Estate groups) and as Associate General Counsel at the University of Minnesota. Ken received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Michigan. He has been a frequent speaker and has served on many nonprofit and for-profit boards of directors.
Jeffrey A. Brimer
Jeffrey is a co-founder of Alexius and acts as its General Counsel. Jeffrey is an internationally recognized franchise law expert and has over 30 years of legal and management team experience. In addition to franchise law, Jeffrey has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and many related practice areas, including entity formation, governance and taxation. He was formerly Counsel in the Denver offices of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP and Snell & Wilmer, LLP, and was Vice President and General Counsel of Medicine Shoppe International. Jeffrey has a passion for improving processes for legal compliance and the delivery of legal services. He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Missouri.

Andy is a co-founder of Alexius, where he focuses on legal services process improvements through the use of improved workflow and cutting-edge software. He brings to the company over 25 years of legal and management team experience with Fortune 500 companies, with a focus on telecommunications businesses and emerging technology companies. Andy held positions as Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs and interim General Counsel for Adelphia Communications and Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for AT&T Broadband and TCI Communications. He has extensive background managing legal and operations teams, legal budgets and restructuring internal processes to enhance efficiencies and reduce costs. Andy received his undergraduate business degree, as well as his law degree, from Creighton University. He has served as a director for a number of private companies.
Principal, Customer Development
Kevin is a co-founder of Alexius. He was a partner in the Denver offices of Faegre Baker Daniels, Snell & Wilmer LLP, and an associate in the Denver office of Dorsey & Whitney LLP. For more than two decades, he has focused his practice on counseling companies that rely on franchising as part of their distribution models on a wide range of legal issues, including state and federal disclosure requirements, compliance with state relationship laws, franchise sales compliance, restaurant and retail development, franchising in the health and wellness industries, mergers and acquisitions, corporate counseling, and dispute resolution. Like the others at Alexius, Kevin is primarily focused on process improvements for the delivery of legal services, and is specifically engaged in the development of workflow software for the franchise and real estate industries. Kevin received his undergraduate business degree from Colorado State University and his law degree from Georgetown University.
Partner, Managed Legal Services & Operations
With over 20 years of legal and management experience, Jenni counsels executive, sales and marketing teams in franchise development, franchisee relationship management, regulatory matters, operations issues and marketing strategies. She also practices generally in entity formation and governance, leasing, licensing and trademark registration. Jenni, together with Mike Maciszewski, oversees day-to-day legal services delivery operations. Jenni previously held positions as a partner at Snell & Wilmer, LLP and as General Counsel of The Alternative Board. Jenni received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from the University of Denver.

Justin is a highly experienced labor and employment attorney. Prior to joining Alexius, Justin practiced at the national law firms Andrews Kurth, LLP, Akin Gump Straus Hauer & Feld, LLP, and Jackson Lewis, PC, where he provided advice and counsel to Fortune 100 companies, as well as mid-sized and smaller companies. Justin’s experience defending the full range of labor and employment lawsuits and counseling a wide range of employers gives him a unique perspective on how to develop specifically-tailored policies, agreements and best practices that minimize employer liability while simultaneously increasing efficiency in operations.

Brian spent 14 years as founding partner and director at Jones Group CPAs & Advisors, based in Denver. He has a broad range of experience providing financial statement audit and review to industries including software development, food service/restaurant, retail, real estate, construction, education and personal services. He also has experience in providing litigation support services and personalized business and tax consulting including negotiation for the purchase and sale of businesses, general tax planning and tax representation (including negotiation with IRS). He has been a panelist at regional and national conferences and lectured on business planning and startup, profitability analysis and operational compliance. Brian is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Partner, Transactional Services & Operations
Mike leads complex transaction deal teams and advises clients on commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and licensing matters. Mike has particularly extensive experience in the franchising and sports industries. In coordination with Jenni Wisniewski, Mike oversees Alexius’ day-to-day legal services delivery operations. Prior to joining Alexius, Mike was a corporate attorney in the Denver office of Faegre Baker Daniels, LLP. He also held management positions in the National Football League and was the General Manager of the Colorado Crush, where he oversaw the organization’s operations, contract negotiations, and financial management. Passionate about higher education, Mike is an instructor at the University of Colorado at Boulder Leeds School of Business. Mike received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College, an MBA from UCLA, and his law degree from the University of Denver.
Partner, Contract Administration Services
Jamie helps clients to have better transactions and relationships with customers, personnel, strategic partners, and key vendors. He also assists clients in managing internal processes, CRM, R&D, IP and intangible assets, regulatory matters, and compliance. Jamie has held positions at the New York City offices of Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman LLP and at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP. Jamie has an extensive background in science and technology, and has served as internal counsel to a number of pioneering technology companies in the semiconductor and software industries.. Jamie received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, attended the University of Oxford, and received his law degree from Boston University.

Leilani is a third-year law student at the University of Denver, from which she will graduate at the end of 2018. She has focused in law school on corporate and commercial law. Leilani is staff editor of the University of Denver Sports and Entertainment Law Journal, has previously clerked for two Colorado judges and has interned for the legal department of the National MS Society. She received her undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University, where she majored in Journalism and Spanish.

With extensive law firm and in-house experience as a paralegal and a contract administrator, including senior paralegal positions in the Denver offices of Faegre & Benson LLP and Snell & Willmer, LLP, Pam is well-equipped to assist clients with a wide range of legal services. She is an expert on U.S. and international franchising regulations and compliance, including state and federal disclosures, franchise sales, and franchisor/franchisee relationships. She has also engage in significant real state matters and mergers and acquisitions. Pam conducts trademark clearance searches and prosecutions while helping clients with brand strategy, licensing and technology transfers. She also has extensive experience in entity formation, governance and corporate record keeping. Pam earned her Associate’s degree and Paralegal Certificate from the Community College of Denver.

Amy’s wide-ranging experience includes paralegal and contracts administration work, as well as project management and legal affairs coordination. Amy has a passion for new technologies, including workflow and artificial intelligence systems. She has applied her unique combination of technical and legal background to her work at Alexius and previously for a number of well-known franchise systems. Amy received degrees from Arizona State University and Grand Canyon State University.
Document and Billing Specialist
Carrie has more than 25 years of experience in the legal industry, and has held legal administrative and paralegal positions with both large and small law firms, including the Denver offices of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP and Snell & Wilmer LLP. Carrie’s financial experience includes positions with Great West Life & Annuity Insurance and several accounting organizations. Carrie attended Metropolitan State University in Denver.
With dual Master's degrees from the University of Missouri, Kaina brings a strong academic background and specialized skill in statistical data analysis to the Alexius team. By applying modern data science tools and techniques, Kaina transforms raw data into visual reports and machine learning models. Kaina's experience as a teaching assistant has also enabled her to communicate complex ideas to others with diverse backgrounds.
